Jack Wilshere reflected on times gone by on Friday evening as he posted a picture of himself in Arsenal training with Cesc Fabregas from many years ago.

The pair played alongside each other for the north London club during Fabregas’ eight-year spell with the Gunners before the Spaniard left to re-join boyhood club Barcelona back in the summer of 2011.

And Wilshere still clearly holds Fabregas in high regard, despite the 27-year-old having opted to join Arsenal’s rivals Chelsea last summer.

Wilshere posted the picture above on his Instagram account on Friday and wrote: “Flashback with the main man @cescf4bregas #Baller”

Fabregas has been in good form for the Blues since his £27m transfer to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona last summer. He has scored two goals in 25 Premier League games for the west London club.

Wilshere, meanwhile, is recovering from a minor ankle operation after another injury-hit season for the Arsenal midfielder.

Arsenal take on Newcastle on Saturday, while Chelsea travel to Hull on Sunday.
