Marcos Rojo is clearly a popular figure in the Manchester United dressing room.

The centre-half celebrated his 25th birthday on Friday as the Red Devils gear up for Sunday’s top-four showdown with Liverpool at Anfield.

And the birthday wishes have been flooding in for the defender, with Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney among the players to use social media to pass on their best to the Argentina international.

Young posted the picture above of the duo on his Instagram account on Friday afternoon and wrote: “Happy birthday @marcosrojo #argentina”

Rooney, meanwhile, shared the snap below and added: “Happy Birthday to my teammate and friend @marcosrojo”

Rojo has made 17 Premier League appearances this season since his £16m summer transfer to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon last summer.

The Red Devils head into Sunday’s clash with Liverpool looking for a victory to keep their bid for Champions League qualification on track.

United beat Liverpool 3-0 when the sides last met at Old Trafford in December.
