The game, live on BT Sport, is now set to start at 13:45 BST.
It is understood that both Arsenal and Liverpool were unhappy at being selected as the first teams to play in the Premier League since the clocks moved forward to British Summer Time last weekend.
With other top-flight sides not in action until 15:00 BST on Saturday, the Gunners and the Reds felt that they were being dealt a double blow – an early kick-off on the first weekend of British Summer Time.
An extra hour’s recovery time is regarded as a potentially crucial benefit in modern-day football.
The Premier League agreed to the clubs’ request at around midnight on Tuesday and said it would consider bringing in a rule which forced all games to kick off at the same time on the first weekend of British Summer Time from next season.
