Jose Mourinho says Petr Cech’s Chelsea future is not in his hands amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Czech Republic international is expected to leave the newly-crowned Premier League champions after having played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois for most of the season.

If it’s in my hands, he would never go. He would never go to big clubs and fantastic teams, big candidates who want to win the Premier League.

Cech is attracting interest from Chelsea’s bitter Premier League rivals Arsenal and United, whilst cash-rich Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen on the shot stopper.

Chelsea manager Mourinho reiterated that he would love to keep Cech in his Blues squad but admitted that he is powerless to prevent the 33-year-old completing a summer move.

“My perfect scenario is that he stays with us. He belongs with this club, and this club belongs to his history and his life,” Mourinho told talkSPORT.

“He’s a fantastic goalkeeper, a fantastic squad man in the dressing room. I tried to prove the respect I have for him my playing him in the FA Cup and Capital One Cup final.

“I played him in the Champions League. I gave him matches in the Premier League.

“I tried to make him feel important, as he is, but I can imagine at 32 or 33, he still feels young and has the passion and desire to play every game.

“If it’s in my hands, he would never go. He would never go to big clubs and fantastic teams, big candidates who want to win the Premier League. I would never let him go, but it’s not in my hands.”

Cech was Chelsea’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for 10 years before Courtois return from a three-year loan at La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid at the start of the season.
