Alexis Sanchez has paid a touching tribute to his mother on her birthday ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Chile international has been one of the stars of the Premier League this season after a £35m move to Arsenal from La Liga outfit Barcelona in the summer.

Sanchez was named in the PFA team of the year after the 26-year-old scored 14 goals in 29 Premier League appearances for the north London side.

But the South American is staying grounded after the Gunners forward took to Instagram to wish the most important woman in his life happy birthday.

Sanchez wrote: “MOM happy birthday ….”

Sanchez has netted 22 times in 45 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this season following his big-money switch from La Liga.
