Gianluigi Buffon has thanked Petr Cech for the “beautiful words” in the Chelsea goalkeeper’s Twitter message after Juventus reached the Champions League final.

The Serie A champions booked their place in their first European final since 2003 after a 1-1 draw with defending champions Real Madrid in the Spanish capital on Wednesday night.

Cech was quick to take to Twitter following Juve’s 3-2 aggregate win, underling his desire to see one of the greatest goalkeepers finally get his hands on the Champions League trophy.

Despite presumably receiving thousands of well wishes, Buffon still managed to spot Cech’s message on the social media site and the Juventus legend replied to the Czech Republic international.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo edged Los Blancos ahead on the night and in the tie on away goals with a first-half penalty.

However, former Madrid forward Alvaro Morata came back to haunt his old side with a 57th-minute strike at Bernabeu Stadium.
