Juan Mata took to social media to thank Manchester United fans for their support throughout the season after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

The Spaniard played the full 90 minutes as Arsene Wenger’s men snatched a point at Old Trafford to dent the Red Devils’ hopes of sealing a top three finish in the Premier League.

United secured a top-four finish and a return to the Champions League in Louis van Gaal’s first season in charge however.

And the playmaker used his Instagram account to pay tribute to the United faithful after the Red Devils’ final home game of the season.

Mata shared the picture above on the photo-sharing app and wrote: “Thanks for your support throughout the season, you make Old Trafford a very special place! We’ll be back stronger!”

The Red Devils took the lead against Arsenal in the 30th minute at Old Trafford when Ander Herrera drilled home from close range.

United dominated proceedings in the first half but Arsenal improved after the break and the north London side equalised in the 82nd minute when substitute Theo Walcott’s cross was deflected in by Tyler Blackett.
