Robin van Persie paid tribute to his grandfather after making his final Manchester United appearance of the season at Old Trafford.
The Netherlands striker was a second-half substitute as the Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by Arsenal at Old Trafford in their penultimate Premier League game of the season.
Van Persie was pictured as all smiles with his 94-year-old grandfather and United’s mascot after the final whistle.
Van Persie uploaded the photo above onto his Instagram account and wrote: “Special moment today with Opa Wim & Fred the Red at the theatre of dreams.”
Van Persie has scored 10 goals and made two assists in 27 Premier League games for United this season.
The Red Devils took the lead against Arsenal in the 30th minute at Old Trafford when Ander Herrera drilled home from close range.
United dominated proceedings in the first half but Arsenal improved after the break and the north London side equalised in the 82nd minute when substitute Theo Walcott’s cross was deflected in by Tyler Blackett.
