Thiago Silva

Brazil international Thiago Silva would bring an imposing presence and leadership to the Arsenal back-line. At 30, Silva has vast experience of top-level football in both France and Italy but is yet to test himself in the English game. Named in the 2014 Fifa World Cup dream team, Silva possesses every attribute you could wish for, making him a complete defender. While Arsene Wenger would probably have to break the world record transfer fee for a defender, the signing of such the natural leader would surely make Arsenal title favourites.

Sergio Busquets

Francis Coquelin was a revelation in the defensive-midfield position in the second half of last season, but Sergio Busquets would offer even more than the Frenchman. A World Cup winner and three time Champions League winner, Busquets is one of the most underrated players in the world and at 27, still has an awful lot to offer. The Spaniard would offer a big presence in the Arsenal midfield and would provide a perfect balance between defence and attack.

Sergio Aguero

Manchester City star man Sergio Aguero may even be out of Arsenal’s price range as the Citizens would be unwilling to sell to a title rival. However, it may still be worth Wenger trying to bring the Argentine to The Emirates due to the fact he is such a special player. The Gunners boss tried to sign Luis Suarez for £49m last summer, and Aguero offers many similar attributes to the Uruguayan. A man who can light up a game from nowhere, Aguero has been a hit in the Premier League since his arrival in 2011, banging in 107 goals in 162 appearances for City. However after four seasons at The Etihad, Aguero may feel ready for a fresh challenge.

Karim Benzema

Real Madrid star Karim Benzema has been linked with Arsenal already this summer and it’s easy to see why Wenger would be interested in his fellow Frenchman. His six seasons at The Bernabeu have seen the powerful front-man score 133 times in 281 appearances. Benzema also has an impressive goal-scoring record for France, scoring 25 goals in 76 games. However, the 6ft 2ins striker brings far more than just goals to the table. His hold up play is second to none, in fact it has been said that Benzema is a better version of Olivier Giroud.

Paul Pogba

Another Frenchman and another world-class player, Paul Pogba has stepped up his game massively since being shown the exit door at Old Trafford. The 22-year-old has become an indispensable player for both Juventus and France, picking up the Fifa World Cup 2014 best young player award. Another player who would command a colossal transfer fee but at such a young age, Pogba already has everything you could want from a midfielder and the frightening thing is he can only get even better. The Frenchman offers both a towering presence and outstanding technical ability and would be sure to become one of the top players in the Premier League.
