Ian Wright has begged Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis to do whatever it takes to bring Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to The Emirates.

The France international could be leaving The Bernabeu this summer amid reports newly-appointed Madrid manager Rafael Benitez is prepared to sell the striker.

Arsene Wenger, who signed Petr Cech in an £11m deal from Chelsea earlier this month, is thought to be keen to sign a striker to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season.

And former Arsenal striker Wright took to Twitter to urge the club’s chief executive Gazidis to push through a deal for the 27-year-old forward.

Benzema has scored 133 goals in 281 appearances for Los Blancos during a five-year spell at Real Madrid after he joined from Ligue 1 side Lyon in 2009.
