Tottenham’s prime shot stopper could be a great replacement for the Petr Cech who recently departed Chelsea to head to London rivals Arsenal for first-team football. It has been reported that Lloris has stated he would leave White Hart Lane if it meant he could play Champions League football. However, the question remains would Lloris be happy to play second fiddle to in-form Thibaut Courtois, who impressed on his loan season to Atletico Madrid and in his debut season in the Premier League. Lloris could be an outsider in the mix to replace Cech but could be persuaded with the lure of the Champions League and manager Jose Mourinho.
Stoke’s No1 has been nothing short of impressive in the 2014-2015 season and he is the hot favourite to pen a transfer to the London club. The deal could be in the region of £8m and many have tipped the Bosnian international as an ideal replacement. Since August 2013 in the Premier League, Begovic has made 132 successful saves and 164 successful catches in 67 appearances which has led to a 66 per cent distribution accuracy. The 28-year-old could be the perfect fit for the current Premier League champions. Mourinho has even been reported having said he is right man for the job and with these stats it backs up his statement.
With the anticipated widely-touted arrival of Manchester United’s David De Gea, it may seem that Iker Casillas is out-of-favour at the Los Blancos. Casillas doesn’t need to remind anyone how impressive his goalkeeping skills have been during his career. He has led the Spanish team to two European championships and one World Cup. However, he is far from finished as a top-level goalkeeper and he may not want to be behind De Gea at a club he has been at since 1998. However, there are many fans whom do not want Casillas to leave the club, as he is a major symbol for the club. It may seem unlikely that he would want to re-join ex-manager Mourinho, who dropped him from first-choice goalkeeper for Diego Lopez, but Casillas could move to England to play Premier League football. The 34-year-old has many playing years left as a goalkeeper and could want to seek a new challenge to continue his form and club honours.
