Harry Redknapp has questioned whether Thomas Muller would want to swap Bayern Munich for Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have been linked with a big-money move for the Germany international in recent days as Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his striking options.

Muller scored 13 goals and made 10 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances for the reigning champions last season.

But former Tottenham Hotspur boss Redknapp doesn’t envisage Bayern boss Pep Guardiola giving Muller permission to leave the Allianz Arena.

Redknapp told Kicca: “Thomas Muller would be fantastic signing for any club and it’s not hard to see why Manchester United would want him.

“But would he want to go and would Bayern be prepared to let him go?”

United manager Van Gaal is also reportedly keen to add to Real Madrid centre-half Sergio Ramos to his Red Devils squad.

Redknapp, who left his post at Queens Park Rangers earlier this year, reckons Ramos reports prove the Premier League is still attractive to the top players.

“If Sergio Ramos wants to leave Real Madrird for United then it’s clear the attraction of playing in the Premier League is still alive and well.”

The Red Devils finished in fourth place and sealed their return to the Champions League in their first season under the management of Van Gaal.
