Joe Gomez trained with his new Liverpool team-mates for the first time at Melwood on Monday afternoon.

The 19-year-old centre-half completed a move to the Merseyside outfit from League One side Charlton Athletic last week.

Liverpool vice-captain Jordan Henderson, who is widely-tipped to succeed Steven Gerrard as the club’s permanent skipper, was snapped leading by example during the session.

Manchester City target Raheem Sterling was also photographed taking part in the session at Melwood despite his agent confirming that the England international won’t be signing a new deal at Anfield.

Newly-married Fabio Borini trained with his Reds team-mates despite being linked with a move away after a disappointing 2014/15 campaign spent largely in the shadows.

Rickie Lambert was also in high spirits in spite of his first-team opportunities being limited at his boyhood club last term.

Another new Liverpool signing James Milner, who will wear the famous No7 shirt, was introduced to the media although he didn’t appear to take part in the training session.
