Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere both took to social media to express their delight at having helped Arsenal secure Emirates Cup glory this weekend.

The pair both featured on Sunday as Arsene Wenger’s men beat Wolfsburg 1-0 to win the tournament for the first time since 2010 as they continued their preparations for the new Premier League season.

Next up for the Gunners is their Community Shield clash with Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday.

Walcott, who netted the only goal of the game against Wolfsburg in the 50th minute at Emirates Stadium, shared the pictures above on his Instagram account and wrote: “Great to be back at Emirates today – another trophy & excited for the season ahead !! #coyg”

Wilshere, who started Sunday’s win over the German side with Walcott, shared the photo below on his own account and added: “Nice to be back in front of our fans again today and happy to get more minutes under my belt, almost ready for a big season #Gooners”

Arsenal, who finished third and retained their FA Cup title last term, kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening weekend of the 2015-16 season.
