Arsene Wenger has challenged Mesut Ozil to score more goals for Arsenal to add to his impressive assists record.

The Germany playmaker scored Arsenal’s second goal as the Gunners wrapped up a thrilling 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Ozil, 27, has already notched up six assists for his team-mates in the Premier League this season to help Wenger’s men up to second place in the top-flight table.

He also netted against Manchester United earlier this month, meaning he has scored two goals in all competitions so far this term.

But Wenger feels that the World Cup winner should be getting himself on the scoresheet on a more regular basis for the north London club.

Wenger told a news conference on Friday morning: “A player of his calibre you want him to add goals to his assists. He is world class.”
