Mario Melchiot has congratulated Manchester United striker Anthony Martial on his start to life in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old United forward scored three goals and made one assist in four Premier League games following his $36m move to Old Trafford from Ligue 1 side Monaco on transfer deadline day.

Martial was also on the score sheet in the 20-time English champions’s 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town in the League Cup last month.

Former Chelsea defender Melchiot posted a photo of Martial with his Premier League player of the month award for September, accompanied by a message for the United star.

Martial squandered United’s best chance in their humiliating 3-0 defeat by bitter rivals Arsenal at Emirates Stadium in the Premier League before the international break.
