Divock Origi says he has already learnt a lot from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Belgium international started his second successive game under the 48-year-old German as Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw with Rubin Kazan in the Europa League on Thursday night.

I just have to use his confidence and experience in order for me to progress – and score goals

Origi failed to find the net against Tottenham or Rubin Kazan after being handed some much-needed game time following a slow start under Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers.

The Liverpool striker, 20, discussed the benefits of working with the former Borussia Dortmund manager over the past two weeks following Klopp’s appointment.

Origi told Liverpool’s website: “I think in the short time, I’ve learnt a lot,” said Origi.

“Mentally, he tries to boost us all and you can see that he has a lot of experience. It’s always good to have someone to look up to who is as enthusiastic as that and send us positive energy.

“For me, it’s always nice to know that the people believe in me. When I came here, I knew the people, the club and everybody believed in me.

“I just have to use his confidence and experience in order for me to progress – and score goals.”

The Liverpool forward agreed a £10m transfer to the Merseyside outfit from Ligue 1 side Lille in 2014 after last summer’s World Cup.

However, Origi was immediately loaned back to the French club before he completed his switch to the five-time European champions in the summer.
