Wayne Rooney celebrated his 30th birthday with his wife Coleen and two sons ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils captain managed to switch off and spend some time with his children Kai and Klay as England’s record goal-scorer relaxed on his landmark day.

Rooney was unable to inspire Louis van Gaal’s side to victory in Russia mid-week after United were held to a 1-1 draw with CSKA Moscow in their latest Champions League group-stage game.

The United skipper’s wife, Coleen, posted the above snap on her Instagram page and wrote the following caption:

Rooney has only scored two goals in eight Premier League appearances for the 20-time English champions this season.
