Piers Morgan was forced to change his tune about Arsene Wenger on Tuesday night after watching Arsenal beat Bayern Munich 2-0 in the Champions League.

The Gunners were under pressure to secure a result after losing their opening two games in Europe’s elite club competition.

Celebrity fan and Arsenal shareholder Morgan has been a public critic of Gunners boss Wenger for some time, and branded the Frenchman’s inclusion on the Fifa world coach of the year shortlist as “ridiculous” before Tuesday night’s game.

However, the former Daily Mirror editor was quick to change his stance on Wenger as the game unfolded and Arsenal claimed victory thanks to late goals from substitute Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil.

The win left Arsenal third in Group F after three games, and three points behind both Bayern Munich and Olympiacos, who beat Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night.

The Gunners now turn their attentions to Saturday’s Premier League clash with Everton.
