Thierry Henry has warned Arsenal that they are set to come up against the best striker in the world in the form of Robert Lewandowski when Bayern Munich travel to Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

The north London side host the Bundesliga outfit looking to notch up their first points of their European campaign after suffering defeats in their opening two group-stage clashes.

However, former Arsenal striker Henry feels that the Gunners are going to have their work cut out if they are going to keep Lewandowski quiet, with the Poland international having scored 20 goals in last 11 games heading into the clash.

Henry wrote in his column for The Sun: To make matters even more difficult for Arsenal, they will be up against Robert Lewandowski, the best striker in the world.

“I’m not talking about wingers who come inside like Messi and Ronaldo. I’m talking about a proper No9 — and Lewandowski is the best by some distance.

“That is not an accolade I hand out lightly based on the back of one good season. Lewandowski has been producing at the very highest level for the last four or five years.

“He did it when he was at Dortmund, he has done it for Poland and now he’s doing it for Bayern. But somehow Arsenal have to stop him.”

Bayern have won on their last two visits to Arsenal which were both round of 16 first-leg assignments. In 2013-14, goals from Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller gave Bayern a 2-0 success, the return ending 1-1.

Arsenal have won only one of their four home games against Bayern, recording a 1-0 success in the 2004-05 round of 16 – they still went out, having lost 3-1 in Germany.
