The Gunners spectacularly squandered the chance to move top of the Premier League table on Saturday evening as they were thrashed by the Saints on the south coast.
Arsenal do not have long to dust themselves down ahead of their next Premier League clash, with Arsene Wenger’s men set to host Bournemouth at Emirates Stadium on Monday afternoon.
And despite their humiliating defeat by Southampton on Boxing Day, former Liverpool striker Owen is expecting Wenger’s side to bounce back by claiming the three points against Bournemouth in north London.
Owen wrote in his blog for Bet Victor: “The Cherries have won five of their last six league games in London including at Stamford Bridge earlier in the month but the Gunners are taken to bounce back after their St Mary’s horror show.”
Saturday’s defeat left Arsenal in second place in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Leicester City, who were beaten 1-0 at Liverpool on Boxing Day.
Manchester City closed the gap to the Gunners back to one point by beating Sunderland.
