Paul Scholes was left somewhat unimpressed after Manchester United scarves featuring Jose Mourinho went on sale outside Old Trafford on Monday night.

The Red Devils headed into the game with Chelsea under intense pressure after a run of three straight Premier League defeats.

Mourinho, who was sacked by Chelsea earlier this month, has been touted as a possible candidate to take over from Louis van Gaal at United should the Dutchman be sacked following the Red Devils’ recent poor run of form.

However, it seems that these merchandise suppliers jumped the gun on Monday – and United legend Scholes was seemingly unimpressed.

Speaking on BT Sport before United’s goalless draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford, Scholes said: “I’m not quite sure what that clown’s doing.”

Monday’s draw extended United’s winless run in all competitions to eight games, but the improved manner of the Red Devils’ performance served to relieve some of the pressure on Van Gaal.
