Bastian Schweinsteiger has taken to social media to urge Manchester United to build on their impressive display during their goalless draw with Chelsea on Monday night.

Schweinsteiger played the full 90 minutes as Louis van Gaal’s men failed to score a winner against the Blues despite an improved performance in front of their home fans at Old Trafford.

Both Juan Mata and Anthony Martial hit the woodwork in the first half, while Nemanja Matic spurned the visitors’ best chance when he blazed over when through on goal in the second half.

United earned plenty of praise for their display despite ultimately failing to pick up the three points.

And Red Devils midfielder Schweinsteiger is hoping that the draw can prove to be a springboard to some improved results.

Schweinsteiger posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account after the game and wrote: “Let’s build on this team performance and keep working hard! #mufc”
