Thierry Henry has claimed that Louis van Gaal still doesn’t trust some of his Manchester United players.

The Red Devils produced one of their best performances of the season for under-pressure Van Gaal on Monday night as United played out a goalless draw with defending champions Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Although the 20-time English champions managed to end a three-game losing run in the Premier League, the Red Devils have failed to win any of their last eight games, which is their worst run since 1990.

Former Arsenal striker Henry, who won the Premier League title in 2002 and 2004, believes Van Gaal is guilty of tinkering with his United side too much amid speculation over his Old Trafford future.

“It doesn’t seem like [Van Gaal] can spark that team. He has won so much, he has experience, everything. But does he know his squad? Does he know who he wants to play?” Henry told Sky Sports.

“At times they are a bit too rigid, too predictable, it’s not the Manchester United I know. They were looking for goals and pace, and they got that in Anthony Martial. He scored goals, and then suddenly he’s on the left, another day on the right.

“Ashley Young one day is left winger, then right back, then left back. Rojo starts, then suddenly he doesn’t start for a month and then he comes back. Daley Blind is the guy, and then suddenly he’s not the guy anymore. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/31969/10113287/thierry-henrys-2015-review-chelsea-man-utd-troubles-and-jamie-vardys-rise.

“They have to go back to being the United that we know.”

The Red Devils are in sixth place and nine points behind current leaders Arsenal following Monday night’s stalemate with Chelsea.
