Thierry Henry says Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is more than just a goal-scorer.

The England international teed up Erik Lamela for the north London side’s opener in a thrilling 2-1 victory over 10-man Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday night.

It looked at the start of the season that he lost a little bit of composure in front of goal – but he got it back

However, Kane was unable to continue his goal-scoring run at the Hornets after the Spurs striker netted twice in Tottenham’s 3-0 victory over Norwich City on Boxing Day.

Former Arsenal striker Henry believes there is much more to Kane’s game than purely goals, although the Frenchman admits the Tottenham talisman did have to rediscover his scoring touch after a poor start to the season.

“What a year he’s had. But he’s more than just a goal-scorer – nobody really mentions his work-rate, which is second to none. He always offers a solution for his team and is always on the move,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“It looked at the start of the season that he lost a little bit of composure in front of goal – but he got it back. Since getting that first goal of this season he hasn’t looked back. Yes, he plays for Tottenham, but you have to give credit where credit is due.”

The reported Manchester United target has netted 13 times in 25 appearances in all competitions ahead of their trip to Everton on Sunday afternoon.
