The 20-year-old midfielder is currently on loan to West Bromwich Albion but speaking after Arsenal’s FA Cup win over Burnley on Saturday, Wenger confirmed that Gnabry is heading back to Emirates Stadium after not having played a first-team game since August.
Wenger went on to reveal that he is pondering whether to send Gnabry out on loan to another club this season.
Asked if Gnabry will stay at Arsenal for the rest of the season, Wenger told his post-match news conference: “I am tempted to give him some competition because he has not played at West Brom.
“I am tempted to let him go somewhere to do with him what I did with [Francis] Coquelin, somewhere for a month or two.”
Gnabry has struggled to play any regular first-team football since his lengthy lay-off with a knee injury.
After booking their place in the FA Cup firth round, Arsenal now turn their attentions to their home Premier League clash with Southampton on Tuesday night.
