Charlie Nicholas is expecting to see Manchester United ease to a comfortable 3-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday and book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The Red Devils head into the game having finally returned to winning ways thanks to a 2-1 victory over Swansea City in the Premier League last weekend.
That win was United’s first victory in eight attempts in all competitions and served to relieve some of the pressure on manager Louis van Gaal.
And former Arsenal man Nicholas is fully expecting to see the Premier League outfit beat the Blades and progress to the fourth round of the tournament.
Nicholas told Sky Sports: “This is another dangerous game for United against a side who have a habit of causing cup shocks. I just feel last week’s victory over Swansea has given United a big jump in confidence and has eased some of the pressure on Louis van Gaal.
“He will be desperate to gather some momentum from that victory with a convincing win, but anything but and the pressure will continue to heap on the United manager.”
Manchester United are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table and three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.
The Red Devils, who finished fourth last season, travel to Newcastle United in their next Premier League game on Tuesday 12 January.
