The newly-fledged England international has scored five goals and has made three assists in 20 Premier League appearances for the north London side so far this season.
He is the fully monty. He’s excellent
Alli signed a new five-and-a-half year deal with the Lilywhites earlier this week after an impressive start to life in the English top-flight following his £5m move from MK Dons in the summer transfer window.
Former Spurs manager Redknapp lavished praise on the 19-year-old box-to-box midfielder, likening Alli to former England and Liverpool captain Gerrard.
Redknapp told BT Sport: “Fantastic player. What a talent.
“When you look how he was sitting there at MK Dons, but then he starts against Manchester United.
“He was performing like that for 15 or 16 months before that.”
When asked why he compared Alli to Gerrard earlier this week, Redknapp explained:
“He has a side to him. He is aggressive. He can do everything. He is the fully monty. He’s excellent.”
England international Alli has already picked up seven yellow cards in just 20 Premier League games since his step up to England’s top flight from League One in the summer.
The Spurs midfielder has made one assist in six Europa League games for the north London outfit ahead of their last-32 clash against Serie A side Fiorentina on 18 February.
