Ian Wright says Tottenham Hotspur have as good a chance to win the Premier League title as Arsenal.

The north London side are five points behind surprise leaders Leicester City after their brilliant 3-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

There is no pressure on Tottenham, they just want to be in the top four

Harry Kane cancelled out Jan Vertonghen’s first-half own goal before Dele Alli and Nacer Chadli netted superb goals to secure three points.

Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, former Arsenal striker Wright insisted that Tottenham aren’t under any pressure in the title race as Mauricio Pochettino’s side look to seize their best-ever chance to win the Premier League.

“It is new-age Tottenham. They are a young side, vibrant team, strong and a fit team,” Wright said.

“This is Tottenham’s best chance to win the league, just as it is Arsenal.”

Wright continued: “No-one mentions them to win. They have just as good a chance to win it as Arsenal and Manchester City have.”

Tottenham have only lost three games in the Premier League this season following defeats by Manchester United, Newcastle United and Leicester.

Wright believes Spurs shouldn’t be feeling the pressure given that Pochettino’s side were initially aiming for a fourth-place finish and a return to the Champions League.

“There is no pressure on Tottenham, they just want to be in the top four,” Wright said.

“That’s what they were aiming for.”

Tottenham make the trip to Norwich City in their next Premier League game at Carrow Road on 2 February.
