The Reds host the Hammers in the cup competition as Liverpool look to avoid a third successive defeat by Slaven Bilic’s side so far this season.
They’re a very strong team but we’ve got home advantage and the last thing the manager will want is a replay down there
Liverpool lost 2-0 to the Hammers at Anfield in the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers in August.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager didn’t fare any better at Upton Park in December when Liverpool were thrashed 3-0 in east London.
Unsurprisingly, ex-Liverpool striker Aldridge is desperate to see the Reds exact some revenge on Bilic’s side after their Premier League defeats.
“West Ham have done us big time this season, completing a league double by a combined 5-0,” Aldridge told Liverpool Echo.
“If I was a player I’d be really looking forward to the FA Cup tie at Anfield on Saturday night because that sort of thing hurts you as a player.
“It’s going to be a tough game because they’ll have had a free week to prepare and we’ve struggled against them the last four or five times we’ve played against them.
“They’ve brought some players in and paid very little really and they’ve got athletes and very good players.
“They’re a very strong team but we’ve got home advantage and the last thing the manager will want is a replay down there.
“The FA Cup is important for the season now with the top four looking so far away.
“We’ve got players coming back and they’ve got to prove to themselves they’re better than West Ham’s.”
Liverpool booked their place in the League Cup final at Wembley on 28 February on Tuesday night thanks to a 6-5 penalty shootout victory over Stoke City at Anfield.
The Reds are in seventh place in the Premier League table and eight points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
