John Barnes is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to return to winning ways when they host Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.

Spurs suffered a blow to their title ambitions on Wednesday night when they slumped to a 1-0 loss to high-flying Leicester City at White Hart Lane.

That defeat left Mauricio Pochettino’s men fourth in the Premier League table and seven points behind leaders and bitter local rivals Arsenal.

Spurs have been tipped by many to be potential outsiders to win the Premier League title this season, and former Liverpool winger Barnes is expecting to see the Lilywhites easily return to winning ways against the struggling Black Cats in north London on Saturday.

Barnes wrote on his blog for Titanbet: “Spurs have been one of the most consistent sides in the Premier League this season and have been playing well.

“Conversely, Sunderland have struggled of late – aside from their big win this week – so I think the home side will get the victory. Goalscorers – Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Jermain Defoe.”

Despite their impressive campaign so far, Tottenham have only won four of their last 10 Premier League games.

Sam Allardyce’s Sunderland side have also won four of their last 10 top-flight outings.
