Marcos Rojo has taken to social media to send a birthday message to his wife Eugenia Lusardo as the Manchester United defender continues his recovery from injury.

The Argentina centre-half has been out of action since having to undergo surgery on a dislocated shoulder and has not featured for the Red Devils since the goalless draw with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League group stage on 25 November.

The defender watched United kick off 2016 with a 2-1 win over Swansea City at Old Trafford on Saturday as they finally got back to winning ways after a run of eight games without a win.

And Rojo used his personal Instagram account to wish his wife Eugenia a happy birthday on Sunday evening.

Rojo posted the series of pictures above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Happy Birthday my love. Happy to be by your side on this day. I love you and I wish you the best in the world always my life !!!”

Manchester United’s next Premier League game is a trip to Newcastle United on 12 January.
