Anthony Martial has promised Manchester United supporters “a surprise” as the forward reflected on Sunday’s 1-0 win at Liverpool.

The 20-year-old summer signing came close to breaking the deadlock on Merseyside either side of half-time but couldn’t quite get his attempts on target.

However, United captain Wayne Rooney scored a 78th-minute winner to seal three points for the visitors and secure their fifth successive win over Liverpool.

And Martial prompted United supporters to speculate wildly on his Instagram page after the France international revealed that a mysterious surprise would be coming soon.

Martial wrote on his Instagram page: “A fantastic win today 💪 Thanks for all your support!! A surprise will come very soon… 😃 #mufc”

The former Lyon and Monaco striker has scored five goals and has made two assists in 17 Premier League games so far this season.

Martial moved to United in a £36m deal from Ligue 1 side Monaco on the final day of the summer transfer window.
