Jordon Ibe was all smiles with Joao Teixeira as the England Under-21 forward sent birthday wishes to the Liverpool starlet.

The Reds duo appeared to be preparing to hit the training ground after Sunday’s disappointing 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Anfield.

Ibe was a second-half subtitute in the north-west derby defeat after he replaced Adam Lallana in the final 20 minutes of the game.

However, the Liverpool youngsters looked in good spirits as Ibe snapped a selfie with the 23-year-old birthday boy and posted it on Instagram.

Ibe wrote: “Happy birthday amigo!! @joao.teixeira.8”

The 20-year-old has made one assist in 18 Premier League games so far this season, although 11 of those appearances came from the bench.

The Portuguese youngster, who spent last season on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion, hasn’t made a Premier League appearance this term.
