The midfielder was handed his first start since his arrival at Emirates Stadium from FC Basel this month as the Gunners wrapped up a 2-1 win over the Clarets thanks to goals from Calum Chambers and Alexis Sanchez in north London.
Elneny played the full 90 minutes as he produced an impressive display in front of Arsenal’s home fans.
And the 23-year-old was quick to use his personal Instagram account to reflect on a positive afternoon after the final whistle.
Elneny posted the picture above on the photo-sharing app and wrote: “Thanks allah for first game ,players for all support ,our fans and special thanks for my fans in Egypt.”
Arsenal now turn their attentions back to Premier League affairs and their home clash against Southampton on Tuesday evening.
The Gunners are currently third in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Leicester City.
