Piers Morgan praised Alexis Sanchez’s tenacious performance during Arsenal’s 2-1 FA Cup win over Burnley at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The celebrity Gunners fan was in the stands as Arsene Wenger’s men bounced back from their disappointing 1-0 defeat by Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend.

Sanchez made his return from a hamstring injury as a second-half substitute during their loss to the Blues last Sunday and started the FA Cup fourth-round clash against the Clarets on Saturday

The talismanic Chile international scored Arsenal’s second goal at Emirates Stadium after Calum Chambers put the home side ahead in the first half.

And former Daily Mirror editor Morgan was hugely impressed by the 27-year-old’s performance in north London.

Morgan tweeted:

Arsenal now turn their attentions back to the Premier League and their home clash with Southampton at The Emirates on Tuesday night.
