The north London side have been linked with a host of players in recent days as the clock ticks down until Monday’s transfer deadline.
There have been reports suggesting that Arsenal are interested in signing the likes of Javier Herndandez and Alvaro Morata as Arsene Wenger considers bolstering his squad further before the deadline.
Arsenal are currently third in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Leicester City heading into the final 15 games of the season.
And former Chelsea coach Wilkins feels that the signing of a quality striker would help Arsenal win their first top-flight title since 2003-04.
Wilkins said on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning: “If I was Arsene, I would certainly be looking to reinforce forward-wise, with a big lump up there with some talent, because I really do think they need it.
“If they were to get it, then I think they would secure the Premier League. I think they can win it this year.”
Arsenal have already brought in midfielder Mohamed Elneny from FC Basel this month.
