Klopp has made a mixed start to his Liverpool career after an inconsistent run of results in the Premier League.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund manager led the Merseyside outfit to the League Cup final last week thanks to a penalty shootout victory over Stoke City at Anfield.
Bayern Munich striker Lewandowski, who played under Klopp during his time at Dortmund, discussed the impact his former manager was having on Merseyside.
“Once at Dortmund there was exactly the same sort of incident with his glasses,” Lewandowski is quoted as saying by Liverpool Echo.
“You could see when that final goal went in how emotional he is. I’ve noticed how much the Liverpool players love to work with him.
“I’ve seen one or two games and the reaction shows they are all united.
‘He always stood up for his team and he’s a bit like a father for the players.
“Also, for the Liverpool fans, when they see they’ve got a coach who gives his all they’ll back him. “Klopp is a very good coach. He suits English football.”
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Poland international in recent months following Klopp’s appointment.
The Reds make the trip to surprise Premier League leaders Leicester City in their next top-flight game at King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.
