The 19-year-old’s rise and rise continued on Saturday evening after Alli scored a brilliant volley in Tottenham’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Alli moved to Tottenham from MK Dons in a £5m deal in the summer, although Brendan Rodgers revealed the midfielder was close to a Liverpool move in 2014.
Former Arsenal captain Henry says he is impressed that Alli decided to remain in League One last season despite seemingly having the opportunity to move to the Premier League.
Henry told Sky Sports: “I love the fact that he stayed at MK Dons, playing in League One and getting kicked at times.
“He can look after himself. He wants the ball. He is brave. He has a big of magic.”
Alli has scored six goals and has made three assists in 20 Premier League games for the north London side so far this season.
Tottenham are in fourth place and five points behind surprise Premier League leaders Leicester City following Saturday’s 3-1 win at Palace.
Spurs make the trip to Norwich City in their next Premier League game on Tuesday 2 February.
