Anthony Martial has taken to social media to reveal his delight at Memphis Depay’s instrumental performance in helping Manchester United thrash Midtjylland 5-1 to reach the last 16 of the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Dutchman was in scintillating form for the Red Devils as he scored his side’s fourth goal to help United record their biggest win under Louis van Gaal.

Martial missed the game after pulling up with a tight hamstring during the warm-up at Old Trafford.

But the French striker was clearly thrilled by Depay’s performance as the Red Devils ran riot in front of their home fans.

Martial tweeted soon after the final whistle:

It remains to be seen whether Martial will be passed fit to face Arsenal in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
