Piers Morgan has reluctantly admitted that it is a great time to be a Tottenham fan after Spurs leapfrogged Arsenal in the Premier League table.

The Lilywhites have been one of the Premier League’s most consistent teams this season and moved up into third place above their bitter local rivals after a convincing 3-0 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been struggling to find consistent top-flight form in recent weeks and were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Southampton at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

That result means that Arsene Wenger’s men have failed to score a single goal in their last three top-flight outings and dealt a fresh blow to their hopes of winning the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Many are tipping Tottenham to be potential outsiders to win the Premier League title this season following their impressive form.

Celebrity Arsenal fan and club shareholder Morgan admits that he has been impressed by Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Morgan said: “If Arsenal fans are listening, and you spent the last seven years telling me I’m wrong, just imagine how we’re going to feel if Tottenham are Premier League champions.

“They’ve got the best defence, a good goalkeeper, a very creative midfield and, in Harry Kane if he stays fit, one of the best red-hot strikers in Europe never mind just this country.

“If I was a Tottenham fan I would be feeling pretty good right now, I’m afraid.”

Asked what he’d do if Spurs did win the league title this season, Morgan joked: “I’d have to emigrate.”

Spurs host Watford on Saturday afternoon.
