John Barnes states his prediction for Arsenal v Leicester

John Barnes looks ahead to Arsenal's crunch clash with Leicester City at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon

John Barnes is backing Arsenal to underline their Premier League title credentials with a thumping 3-1 win over Leicester City at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners head into the game looking to build on their 2-0 victory at Bournemouth last weekend and knowing that a win would lift them to within two points of Claudio Ranieri’s Premier League leaders in the table.

Leicester have been proving all of their doubters wrong in recent weeks and moved five points clear at the top of the table thanks to their impressive 3-1 win at Manchester City last weekend.

Arsenal will be looking to put their stuttering start to the new year behind them by claiming victory over the high-flying Foxes on Sunday lunchtime.

And former Liverpool star Barnes is confident that the Gunners will boost their title hopes with a convincing win over Leicester this weekend.

Barnes wrote on his blog for Titanbet: “This is a must win for Arsenal.

“They have to get three points to keep their title chances alive, and Leicester will be full of confidence – this is a game they cannot afford to lose. Win it and they’re title favourites for me.

“That said, I do think the home side will have enough. Goal-scorers – Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Riyad Mahrez.”
