The Chile international has struggled to produce the kind of sparkling displays that he had been before he suffered a hamstring injury back in November.
Sanchez made his return to action for the Gunners back in January and has been a regular fixture in the first-team since then.
However, the 27-year-old has only managed to score one goal in seven games for the north London side since the turn of the year.
Sanchez will be hoping to be on the scoresheet when Arsenal travel to Manchester United for Sunday’s crunch clash at Old Trafford.
But Wenger has pleaded with Arsenal supporters to give Sanchez time to find his top form once again following his return from injury.
Wenger told a news conference on Friday: Yes [he will need time to find his top form.
“He’s a highly motivated player and I believe that he’s conscious of it as well.
“He wants to do even better. Let’s focus on the team performance and after that every individual will benefit from a good team performance.”
Arsenal have not won the Premier League since the 2003-04 season.
