Dembele has been a regular fixture in the Lilywhites’ first team this season and has scored three goals in 21 Premier League games for the north London side to help them up to second place in the table.
The Belgium international will be expecting to feature when Spurs host Fiorentina in the second leg of their Europa League last-32 clash at White Hart Lane on Thursday night.
And former Arsenal star Nicholas believes that Dembele has been a key player for Spurs this season.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ, Nicholas said: “He never looks like he’s in a hurry. Everything he does is in slow motion.
“He’s such a naturally gifted player, and the only complaint I can make about him is he is all left-foot.
“He beats players so tightly. And he’s filtered in brilliantly with Eric Dier. He’s a lovely footballer.”
Tottenham, who are currently two points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City, host Swansea City at White Hart Lane in their next top-flight game on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs were dumped out of the FA Cup at the hands of Crystal Palace last weekend.
