David Beckham has singled out Tottenham Hotspur duo Dele Alli and Harry Kane for special praise ahead of Thursday night’s clash against Fiorentina.

Alli has enjoyed a brilliant first season in the Premier League after Spurs signed the 19-year-old in a £5m deal from League One side MK Dons in the summer.

The midfielder, who netted his first England goal in a 2-0 win against France in November, has already scored seven goals and has made five assists.

Former England captain Beckham admits he is excited by the Tottenham youngster’s obvious talent.

“I have been really impressed by Dele Alli. He has had a great season at Spurs,” Beckham told talkSPORT.

“It is great to see young players coming through and playing with the enjoyment that you want them to play with.

“It is what Roy done so well – he has brought so many young players into the squad and given them the chance to play on the biggest stage.”

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder explained why he is also a big fan of Tottenham’s prolific goal-scorer Kane.

Beckham added: “Harry Kane – you see a player like that and he has got an honesty about the way he plays and that is what I love seeing about the way he plays the game.

“He works hard and you can tell he cares about the game and you can tell he cares about playing for our country. Seeing players like that play on the biggest stage is exciting and I am looking forward to the Euros.”

The 23-year-old has scored 16 goals in 26 Premier League games for the north London outfit so far this season.
