Michael Owen is tipping Fiorentina to beat Tottenham in the Europa League last 32 on Thursday night.

Spurs head into the game in fine form after having secured an impressive 2-1 victory at Manchester City on Saturday afternoon to leave them second in the table and just two points off top spot.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men travel to Italy on Thursday night to take on the Serie A side as they look to continue their good run.

Former Liverpool striker Owen feels that Spurs may choose to prioritise the Premier League over the Europa League and says that the Italian outfit are likely to claim victory on Thursday night.

Writing in his column for Bet Victor, former England international Owen said: “Spurs are right in the title mix and I wonder if they will prioritise the Premier League over this competition given they look to have every chance of making the Champions League next term via a top-four finish which the two other Premier League sides cannot?

“Whether they do or not, Fiorentina are a fine side and they will take heart from the fact that they eliminated the north London Club at this same stage 12 months ago before eventually losing to eventual winners Sevilla in the semi-final.

“I think the Viola will take a lead back to White Hart Lane next month.”

Tottenham’s next Premier League game is a home clash against Swansea City on Sunday 28 February.
