Speaking to ITV Sport after Tottenham’s 4-1 aggregate win, Hoddle heaped praise on the South American after his eye-catching display.
“He has definitely played better this season but he is playing with confidence now,” Hoddle said.
Lamela became Tottenham’s club-record signing in 2013 after he moved to White Hart Lane in a £30.75m deal from Serie A side Roma.
The South American playmaker has scored three goals and has made four assists in 23 Premier League games so far this season.
Tottenham host Swansea City in the Premier League at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon as Spurs look to maintain their title bid.
