Jamie Carragher was impressed by Lucas Leiva’s performance for Liverpool before the Reds were knocked out of the FA Cup by West Ham United.

The Hammers netted an extra-time winner at Upton Park to book their place in the fifth round, where they will face Blackburn Rovers later this month.

The east London side took the lead in the 45th minute in east London when Michail Antonio guided in Enner Valencia’s cross at the far post.

However, Liverpool equalised three minutes after half-time when Philippe Coutinho’s free-kick sneaked under the wall.

Neither side were able to find a winner before full-time – and Angelo Ogbonna’s header secured victory for the home team late in the second half of extra-time.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher was largely impressed by Lucas’ performance for the Reds in east London but admitted that the Brazilian often gives away too many free-kicks.
