Jamie Carragher reveals that he is a big fan of Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud

Jamie Carragher believes that Olivier Giroud is often underrated and believes that the Arsenal striker deserves more credit following his involvement in Sunday’s dramatic 2-1 win over Leicester City.

The French forward played the full 90 minutes as Arsene Wenger’s men came from a goal down to beat the 10-man Foxes in front a jubilant crowd at Emirates Stadium.

Giroud set up Theo Walcott for Arsenal’s equaliser with a deft cushioned header and had a number of efforts saved by Kasper Schmeichel before Danny Welbeck’s stoppage-time winner in north London.

Carragher was asked for his thoughts on Giroud after the game on Twitter by one fan, and the former Liverpool defender revealed that he is a keen admirer of the France international.

Sunday’s win left Arsenal third in the table and two points behind leaders Leicester heading into the final 12 games of the season.

The Gunners’ next top-flight game is a trip to Manchester United on 28 February.
