Jamie Redknapp has described Saido Berahino as a “genuine talent” amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The England Under-21 international scored West Brom’s third goal in a 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace at The Hawthorns on Saturday evening.

The 22-year-old forward has missed a large part of the season due to fitness, form and speculation surrounding his future.

Berahino has only started 10 Premier League games for the Baggies, although he has made a further 12 appearances from the bench for Tony Pulis’s side.

Speaking to Sky Sports following West Brom’s 3-2 win, Redknapp tipped the Spurs target to leave The Hawthorns in the summer transfer window.

“I am sure West Brom will have a bit of a problem in the summer and I would be amazed if he is a West Brom player next year,” Redknapp said.

“I think they might have to move him on, but if he plays like that they will get really good money for him and the rewards will come to him because he has genuine talent, there are not many players like him.”

Berahino has scored four goals in 22 Premier League appearances for West Brom so far this season.

Tottenham were linked with a move for the England Under-21 striker last summer and in the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise.
